Shipping a car out of Carver
Carver combines a compact historic river district with fast-growing neighborhoods above the valley. The upper subdivisions are simple pickup points; the older river streets need a different plan.
Highway access
Highway 212 is the main route toward I-494, with County Road 11 connecting the city to the interchange near Chaska.
Pickup access for a full carrier
New developments usually accommodate a carrier. Historic downtown streets and steep river approaches are handled from a larger paved meeting point.
Winter
Minnesota River fog and ice affect the low approaches, while drifting is more common on the open roads west of town.
Pickup window
Once a carrier is assigned your pickup window is normally 1–4 days, and 3–6 days in transit once loaded after loading. Carver County pickups are dispatched alongside the rest of the metro or region wherever that gets you a better truck.

River Valley Auto Transport is a broker, not a motor carrier. We evaluate carriers and arrange your shipment; a separate, federally licensed trucking company physically moves the vehicle, carries the cargo insurance on it and issues the Bill of Lading. You should always know which carrier has your car.

Seasonal timing from Carver
Southbound - October to December
This is when Minnesota empties toward Collier and Lee counties. Demand, not distance, sets the price. Booking three to five weeks out from Carver gives you a real choice of carriers, and shipping before the first significant snowfall removes the access problems described above entirely.
Northbound - March to May
The return half of the migration. Pickup windows widen in Southwest Florida while delivery back into Carver stays straightforward, so the constraint sits at the Florida end - particularly for gated communities and Marco Island.
Popular routes from Carver
Most Carver shipments run the Minnesota–Florida corridor: south to Naples, Fort Myers or Cape Coral in the fall (about 1,792 miles, 3–6 days in transit once loaded), and back north to Carver County in the spring. These route guides cover each direction in detail.
